The Real Reason You’re Not Seeing Results (Even If You’re “Doing Everything Right”)
You’re working out. Eating cleaner. Staying active.
But the scale won’t budge and the mirror’s not changing.
Here’s the hard truth:
“You might be doing a lot… but not doing the right things consistently enough”
Common culprits:
Lack of intensity in workouts
Inconsistent portions or calories (especially on weekends)
Poor sleep and high stress interfering with recovery and hormones
Too much program-hopping and not enough progressive overload
If your input is scattered, your output will be too. Refocus. Track. Push harder. Sleep better. The change is coming—you just have to tighten the screws.

Pro Tip:
Consistency Isn’t Just About Showing Up—It’s About Showing Up With Intention
There’s a big difference between:
Logging in reps and checking boxes
Versus pushing yourself, improving your form, increasing your weights, or dialing in your meals
Going through the motions doesn’t get results. Focused effort does.

Question from Our Readers:
“Should I do cardio before or after lifting?”
– Eric, 45, from Boise
Great question.
It depends on your goal:
If your goal is fat loss: Do strength training first, cardio after. That way you use your best energy to preserve/build muscle.
If your goal is endurance: Flip it—prioritize the cardio.
For general health: Keep them separate if possible (AM/PM or alternate days), or do strength first.
Strength is your foundation—don’t burn it out on the treadmill before you build it in the gym.
Fit Trivia: Which 90s comedy featured a character who took “globo-gym” lifting culture to the extreme—with purple dumbbells, tanning beds, and absurd ego?

Answer: Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story (2004) Ben Stiller’s character, White Goodman, was a hilarious caricature of 90s gym-bro culture—complete with cable curls, protein shakes, and lines like “Nobody makes me bleed my own blood!” A funny reminder of what not to be in the gym.
